DOES MAINE’S CHILDREN’S BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SYSTEM OF CARE NEED IMPROVEMENT?
HOW?
IN WHAT WAYS?
The Office of Child and Family Services (OCFS) of Maine DHHS has hired Public Consulting Group (PCG) to review Maine’s Children’s Behavioral Health System of Care (SOC). Key questions include:
- What are the strengths of the SOC? What is going well?
- What are the current problems and gaps in the SOC?
- What possible solutions do you or your organization think may help the SOC overcome current problems and gaps? What are the best ways for the SOC to improve?
YOUR INPUT IS IMPORTANT!
For individual youth, parents, and behavioral health providers, OCFS/PCG has devised a SURVEY and organized TOWN HALLS to capture your input. The very last part of the survey has 3 questions very much like the 3 questions above. The survey can be accessed at www.mainechildsurvey.com; deadline for completing the survey is Sunday Oct 21st at midnight.
Please consider also sharing your answers to the 3 questions with this website; if you email a copy of your input to MEChildMentalHealthCoalition@gmail.com, we will post it here. Please see the input already posted by others below. Posting your input and reading the input of others is a great way for us all to learn from one another.
If you are an advocacy or provider organization, the survey is not designed for you; you can email your answers to the 3 questions directly to OCFS/PCG at sfoosness@pcgus.com. Once again, we hope you will also share your input by emailing a copy of it to MEChildMentalHealthCoalition@gmail.com so that we can all learn from one another.
OCFS/PCG has organized TOWN HALLS in Portland, Augusta, Bangor, and Presque Isle on Oct. 29-30 and Nov. 7-8; times, directions and RSVP are at https://goo.gl/forms/RcimRB8vbD7JGfoG2.
