DHHS Intensive Outpatient Program with Triple P (Positive Parenting Program) available to families in multiple counties

Posted on February 19, 2018

We are all providing care to children and families affected by the opiate epidemic. DHHS is funding a program aimed at treating young parents with mental health and substance abuse problems with an intensive outpatient program AND working with them to improve their parenting capabilities through the positive parenting program (Triple P). This program is now available to families involved with the child welfare system in Androscoggin, Oxford, Franklin, Kennebec, Somerset, Knox, Lincoln, Sagadahoc and Waldo Counties. If you have a child in your practice whose family is involved with the child welfare system and whose parents have problems with substance abuse, consider calling the DHHS caseworker to get the parents into the Maine Enhanced Parenting Program. Its funded through a grant and the parents don’t have to pay for it.

Similar programs are available in the Northern and Southern counties in our state. Lets get these people into treatment and help protect their children.
