Posted on January 30, 2025

The Office of Child and Family Services and the Maine Children’s Trust are pleased to announce the fifth webinar in our Prevention Webinar Series to continue the conversation about how we can build supportive communities and keep children safe by keeping families strong.

When: Tuesday, February 4, 2025 | 10:00AM - 11:00AM via Zoom

Topic: Celebrating National Parent Leadership Month & HOPE: Healthy Outcomes from Positive Experiences

Overview: February is National Parent Leadership Month and is a time to highlight that when parents are supported and empowered, children are nurtured, and communities are strengthened. During this webinar, strategies will be shared for ways everyone can support parents through celebrating this nationally recognized month. This webinar will also focus on promoting the Healthy Outcomes from Positive Experiences (HOPE) building blocks; a new way of recognizing and talking about experiences that support children’s growth and development towards being healthy and resilient adults. Positive Childhood Experiences (PCEs) drive healthy development and mitigate the effects of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) while supporting thriving communities. Participants will learn the HOPE building blocks and strategies for how everyone can play a role in building opportunities for positive experiences for children.

Participants will:
1. Learn about nationally recognized Parent Leadership Month in February and ways to get involved in supporting parents.
2. Understand the science behind Positive Childhood Experiences and learn the four building blocks of HOPE.
3. Understand strategies that parent leaders and community members can take to promote the HOPE building blocks in their community.

In order to participate or receive the webinar recording and resources, please register here by January 31, 2025, at 5 p.m. A meeting invitation and link to the webinar will be sent to you the day prior to the scheduled webinar.
