  • Ring-Chi Li, DO Northern Light Health

I earned a Master’s degree in Toxicology from National Taiwan University and a PhD in Pharmacology from the University of Cambridge in the U.K. I later pursued postdoctoral training in Neuroinflammation at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. Subsequently, I completed my medical degree at Touro University California, followed by a residency at The Christ Hospital in Cincinnati and an Allergy and Immunology Fellowship at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville.

Before my fellowship training, I practiced hospital medicine with the Mid-Atlantic Kaiser Permanente Group in Baltimore for two years. In November 2020, I joined Northern Light Health in Bangor, where I currently practice as an allergist and immunologist.

Throughout my career, I have been actively involved in research. Presently, I lead two clinical trials: one with Pfizer on the efficacy and immunogenicity of a Lyme disease vaccine and another funded by the Department of Defense in collaboration with JaxLab, investigating glucose metabolism in lupus development and treatment. We are also preparing to serve as a clinical trial site for evaluating the peanut patch as epicutaneous immunotherapy for peanut allergy.

In addition to my clinical and research work, I have been honored to serve as the president of the Maine Allergy Society and the treasurer of the New England Society of Allergy since 2022. These roles allow me to collaborate with colleagues and contribute to advancing the field of allergy and immunology.
