Description: Youth in foster care often face unique behavioral, developmental, and healthcare challenges. This session will explore the landscape of care for these children and adolescents, highlighting current approaches, challenges, and opportunities to strengthen support and improve outcomes.
Presenters: Adrienne W. Carmack, MD, FAAP is the Medical Director of Maine DHHS’s Office of Child and Family Services, where she provides clinical support for child welfare, children’s behavioral health, and early care and education. She also practices part time at Penobscot Pediatrics, part of Penobscot Community Health Care in Bangor, where she has cared for children since 2007.
