Dr. Mazumdar will provide an overview of the epidemic of arsenic-contaminated drinking water in Bangladesh and the neurotoxic effects of arsenic. She will review evidence that investigates arsenic's contributions to neural tube defect risk and evaluate potential strategies for neural tube defect prevention in high-arsenic areas.
