Why Try: A Practical Approach to Building Resilience in Youth
Posted on January 07, 2026
Overview
Pediatric providers are increasingly supporting youth resilience and behavioral health needs in partnership with schools and community systems. This session introduces the WhyTry Program, an evidence-based social-emotional learning (SEL) approach that uses visual metaphors and storytelling to strengthen motivation, emotional regulation, and decision-making. Participants will explore practical strategies that can be integrated into pediatric, behavioral health, and school-based settings.
Featured Speakers
Christian Moore, LCSW, founder of the WhyTry Organization and author of The Resilience Breakthrough, and Jason Johnson, Ed.S., Director of Training and Research at WhyTry, bring national expertise in resilience education. Their work translates research into practical, accessible strategies that support youth engagement and positive behavior change across care and school-based settings.
As a special addition, Christian Moore has generously made a digital copy of The Resilience Breakthrough available to all participants.
