Description: Today’s youth are navigating a range of social and emotional challenges that can impact their health and well-being. This session, led by Dr. Brandy Brown, will share inclusive and affirming strategies providers can use to support young people, with a focus on addressing the unique needs of LGBTQ+ youth and families. Participants will gain practical tools to foster resilience, strengthen communication, and connect youth with appropriate care and resources.
Presenter: Brandy Brown, DSW, LCSW is a licensed clinical social worker, lifelong LGBTQ+ advocate, and Chair of the NASW National Committee on LGBTQ+. She is the founder of Transform and Rise Up and has extensive experience advancing care across diverse healthcare systems, including psychiatric inpatient, corrections, medical specialty, and residential treatment. Dr. Brown is also a sought-after speaker, trainer, and consultant, known for engaging presentations on gender, sexuality, mental health, and inclusive care practices.
