Maine's Universal Immunization Program Expansion to Include Adults 19-64 Years
Posted on May 27, 2026
The Maine Immunization reported "Starting July 1, 2026, Maine’s Universal Immunization Program will expand vaccine access to adults 19-64 years, including those who are underinsured, uninsured, or enrolled in MaineCare. A universal immunization program will provide many benefits to both healthcare providers and patients.
If your practice is already enrolled as a MIP provider, you will only need to complete the required vaccine needs assessment. If you are not enrolled and would like to participate, contact MIP to enroll or for additional questions at ImmunizeME.DHHS@maine.gov.
Please complete the Adult Vaccine Need Assessment by June 30, 2026.
At this time, we encourage providers to use their current private stock before ordering state supplied vaccine in July. There will still be a grace period where providers can continue submitting private vaccine claims for reimbursement until their private stock has been depleted."
