New! Resource for General Pediatricians on Developmental and Behavioral Conditions
Open access resources. The AAP Section on Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics (SODBP), with generous support of AAP donors to the Friends of Children Fund, has developed a new patient care page for "Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics: A Resource Guide for General Pediatricians." This guide is a resource for pediatricians to support children and their families in addressing developmental and behavioral conditions. This support may occur as families wait for an evaluation by a developmental-behavioral pediatrician (DBP), or it may occur in the longitudinal care provided by the pediatrician in the medical home. (Note that the term "children" represents the age space of infancy through adolescence and young children.) This new page includes a variety of resources, from an overview of the DBP subspecialty, a statement on the critical partnership of general pediatricians and DBPs in providing care, as well as condition-specific resources for pediatricians and families.
